1.Overview
==========

This panel is derived from a F14 panel designed by Dino Cattaneo, and
I have bundled it many other standard FS2000 gauges and a FMC.
This bundle assumes that you have the standard FS2000 gauges installed.

The reason I developped it, is the way I like to fly aircraft:
a full-function panel with still the best-possible Forward (or Spot
Plane) View with the panel enabled. So, for my taste functionality
/readability of the panel is much more important than proper alikeness
with the actual cockpit of a specific aircraft. And: I want to use the
same panel for various aircraft, so I can concentrate on flying/scenery
instead of how to operate a specific panel.

So, I tried to combine the best of 'all' worlds, which led to the
following requirements for this panel:
1. Optimal readabilty of the panel with 17", 1024*768 pixel screen.
2. Using standard gauges as much as possible.
3. Maximum forward / spotplane viewing space with the panel enabled.
4. Simplicity. Learn gauges once, and use them for several aircraft.

I decided to use Dino's panel and gauges as starting point, and
rearranged most gauges onto a simplified panel bitmap.
Then I added some standard FS2000 gauges to this main panel, like an
autopilot, warning lights, VOR/ADF gauges for navigation, etc.
In overlay panels, I added a FMC, the standard FS2000 GPS and various
other gauges not realy needed during flight. These overlay's can be
activated from the Main panel.

NOTE: for scaling the panel I left a small grey square in the upper
right corner of the screen. Drag this to resize the panel after loading
your flight / aircraft that uses this panel.

2. Installation
===============
This panel bundle is ready-to-use, complete with all necessary
gauges. Therefore some gauges may already be present on your system.

******IMPORTANT*******:
When installing files from this package, there is NO need to
overwrite files that you already have. Be carefull if you DO
decide to overwrite existing files (make backup copies first !)

Installation:
- Unzip all files to your main FS2000 folder, with WINZIPs option
"use folder info" enabled. This places:
- panel files to /fs2000/aircraft/fsfsconv/panel.rcb.fighter
- gauge files to folder /fs2000/gauges
If you don't have a default FS2000 installation, you have to
define the file locations yourself.
- Copy /fs2000/aircraft/fsfsconv/panel.rcb.fighter/rcb-panel.cfg
to the /panel folder of the aircraft for which you want to use
my panel. Backup your existing 'panel.cfg' file in this folder,
and rename my file 'rcb-panel.cfg' to 'panel.cfg'.

3. Credits:
===========
Many thanks to:
- Dino Cattaneo (and other gauge designers) for his excellent F14
TomCat panel which was the basis for this panel.
- Tony d'Ambrosio & John Schumacher, for their radiofrequency FMC

4. Copyrights and Disclaimer
============================
- This panel is freeware, and is available for your personal use.
- It may NOT be sold or bundled with commercial software.
- You are allowed to bundle this archive in other packages, provided
this archive remains unmodified.

These statements hold both for my work on the panel, as well as
for the included gauges.
And obviously, installing/using this panel is at your own risk.

Hope you enjoy flying with this panel as much as I did designing it.
